San Diego city firefighters are warning residents about the dangers of illegal fireworks after people set them off at Jerabek Park in Scripps Ranch, raising concerns about wildfire risk.

Just days before the Fourth of July, a fireworks fraud scheme fizzled out when the suspect walked back into the same Hialeah store he’d allegedly ripped off, police said.
